Have you been diagnosed with anxiety or depression disorder?
It's natural to become distressed and even fearful when someone
is diagnosed with mental illness. Labels like anxiety disorder
or panic disorder or depression carry a lot of emotional
significance for some people because they link their mental
illness condition to that of a medical condition. Fortunately,
while sounding quite medical, the names of the mental conditions
or disorders actually don't mean what most people think they
mean.
So if you've been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder or
depression condition, there is no need to be worried or
frightened by the name of your condition. Because the name of
your condition does not mean that you have a scientifically
proven medical condition. It simply means that your set and
characteristics of symptoms have a name. That name is used to
illustrate a certain type of thoughts, actions, behaviors, and
condition. It's not a medical condition.
There is a wrong notion held by many people that anxiety or
depression conditions means a chemical imbalance of biological
brain and they need to fix the chemical imbalance in the brain
first. Thankfully, a number of recent studies have shown that
anxiety and most forms of depression are cognitively based, not
biologically based. This finding means a lot to the people who
are suffering from anxiety disorder and buy Xanax or other
similar medicines to maintain normal pace in life. Because it
means that;
* Full recovery is attainable by everyone. * There's a lot we
can do to return to and maintain normal health. * We have
everything we need within ourselves to regain control of our
health and life. * We don't need medication to bring about full
and lasting recovery. * All we need to do is to learn about what
anxiety and depression are, what changes we need to make in
order to recover, then follow through and make the necessary
changes.
Every one should face the truth and do what they need to do to
solve the present problem, as depression and anxiet
y are problems, which are mainly in the cognitive level. If
the suffering person escapes the reality and hides himself
behind the doors, none will be able to help him.
There are cognitive psychotherapies and other positive changes
in lifestyle, which can help a lot if you have
anxiety disorder or depr
ession or even panic disorder. It does not mean that
recovery is easy, but it's within your capabilities and anyone
can do it if he tries and confront the present crisis in his
life. As I said earlier, we have everything we need within
ourselves to regain control of our health and life, all we have
to do is 'look within'.
